Automatic and manual backups

Every SoftServer plan includes backups, so you always have a restore point if something goes wrong.

How backups work

• Backups capture the whole server, taken with Proxmox on the hosting side.
• You can also create a manual backup on demand before a risky change — a platform update, a migration or a big deployment.

Create a manual backup

1. Open your server and go to the Backups section.
2. Start a new backup. The panel creates a restore point and shows its status.

Good habits

• Take a manual backup before major changes.
• Keep an eye on how many restore points your plan retains.
• Test a restore occasionally so you know the process when you actually need it.
