How to choose the right VPS plan

SoftServer offers four sizes on two tiers. Pick based on what you run and how much traffic you expect — you can upgrade later without rebuilding.

The sizes

• Sandbox (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 20 GB) — testing, a small site, or a staging box.
• Production (4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 50 GB) — the most popular choice for a live WordPress or Laravel site.
• Powerhouse (6 vCPU, 16 GB RAM, 120 GB) — busy sites, small stores, or several apps on one server.
• Supreme (8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 250 GB) — heavy platforms like Magento, or high-traffic applications.

Standard vs Performance

• Standard is the best value for most sites.
• Performance runs on faster dedicated hardware with more bandwidth — choose it for demanding, latency-sensitive apps.

Tips

• Memory-hungry platforms (Magento, large stores) want Powerhouse or Supreme.
• Billing longer saves money: 3% off for 3 months, 5% for 6, 10% for 12.
• Not sure? Start on Sandbox or Production and scale the plan up when you need to.
