Create and manage mailboxes

Once email is set up on your domain, you can create mailboxes for each address you need.

Steps

  1. Open your server and go to the Mail section.
  2. Make sure email is enabled for your domain.
  3. Create a mailbox — choose the address (for example [email protected]) and a password.
  4. Use the mailbox with any email client (Thunderbird, Outlook, Apple Mail) or a webmail app, with the IMAP/SMTP settings shown in the panel.

Managing mailboxes

  • Reset a mailbox password any time from the same section.
  • Delete mailboxes you no longer need.
  • Add as many mailboxes as your server resources allow.

Tip

Use a strong, unique password for each mailbox. Mail accounts are a common target for abuse, and SoftServer's abuse monitoring will flag a mailbox that starts sending spam.
